1962

Our founder, Christakis Agathangelou returned to Cyprus from Italy where he was working as a service installation engineer at FRAU.

1976

In January 1976 following civil unrest and military occupation, Christakis, lost his factory in Mia Milia. Not one to give up, he persisted in his vision and decided to start all over again by registering a new company “Christakis Agathangelou Ltd.”, specializing in the manufacture of industrial stainless-steel tanks and food processing machinery.

This was the first stainless steel equipment manufacturing company on the island. As a true entrepreneur, Christakis was determined to design and develop innovative solutions, which were completely unique for that time.

1988

After a successful decade of continuous growth, the new generation joined the team. Angelos Agathangelou, the eldest son of the founder, joined the company after having completed his mechanical engineering studies. Whilst Angelos provides technical and managerial expertise to the company, he has also supported product diversification, company expansion as well as internationalization of the company products and offerings.

1997

Angelos took over management of the company in 1997. Together with Michalis Michael and Marios Christou who joined the team as mechanical engineers in the late 90s, they envisioned the transformation of “Christakis Agathangelou Ltd.” into a pioneering company that serves clients globally. Their goal was to become the leading supplier for the now rapidly growing, food-processing industry.

2001

From a small family business, Agathangelou evolved into a partnership with unlimited potential highlighting this important milestone year for the development of the company. Michalis Michael and Marios Christou purchased shares in the company and the additional funds were re-invested into the company for its international expansion.

The company began participation in international exhibitions.

2002

The Company introduces a new logo.

2003

The company began exporting equipment and installing dairy plants, primarily in the Middle East.

2005

In 2005, the company created strategic partnership with Jordan Stainless Steel, in Zarqa Free Zone to expand its operations. The company supplied European technology at competitive prices to neighboring Middle Eastern and African markets, mainly tanks for the food industry.

2011

The company volumes of exports surpassed the volumes produced for the domestic market.

2015

The 3rd generation of Agathangelou joins the ranks. The grandson of the founder, Christakis Agathangelou Jr, joined the company after completing his studies in Mechanical Engineering.

2017

The first paneer line designed and manufactured for India with the capacity of 1000kg/hr of cheese.

Sotiris Agathangelou, the 2nd grandson of the founder Christakis Agathangelou, joined the company after completing his studies in Applied Mathematics.

2018

The company exports volume reached 80% of its turnover. In the same year the company received the Cyprus Export Award for Industrial products by the Cyprus Ministry of Energy, Commerce, and Industry.

2020

The first Semi-Automatic Grilled Cheese production line was installed in Sweden with the capacity of 1000 kg/hr of cheese.

2021

The first Automatic Halloumi production line was installed in Cyprus with the capacity of 3000 kg/hr of halloumi.

The Company acquired a new industrial unit to serve the needs of assembly and testing of new lines before client delivery.
